Enquiry into housing for disabled people

Please let the Equality and Human Rights Commission know your views on housing and disability.

The information you give them will form an important part of the evidence they will use as part of their Enquiry. They are particularly keen to hear from:

  • disabled people, their families and carers
  • disabled people’s organisations and other voluntary sector and community sector organisations
  • housing providers

They want to hear the views and experiences of disabled people and organisations on housing and tenancy support provision. This includes the effect it has on disabled people’s choice and control over their housing situation and their right to independent living.

They also want to hear from housing providers, including housing associations, Arm’s Length Management Organisations (ALMOs) and private landlords. They are interested in how they allocate homes and monitor and plan to meet the housing and tenancy support needs of disabled people. They are also interested to hear about any good practice and barriers they face in doing this.  Later this year they will also survey Local Authorities.

The EHRC has a terms of reference for the Inquiry and they are only looking for evidence about these things.

Please only complete the questionnaire that is relevant to you and only complete the questions that are relevant to your situation.

The closing date is 23:59 on Tuesday 18 April 2017.
